The 17th anniversary remembrance of Rev. Fr. Sarathjeevan, who was killed during the final stages of the war in Mullivaikkal, was held on May 18 at St. Fatima Church, Uruthirapuram.
The event was organized by Rev. Fr. John Canisious, Parish Priest of Uruthirapuram, and the Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Anton Stephen, Director of the Marainathi Catholic Media Centre of the Diocese of Jaffna. Following the Mass, a remembrance programme included a moment of silence, tribute addresses, and the lighting of memorial lamps.
Priests, religious, and the faithful participated in the commemoration, which also remembered civilians killed, injured, or reported missing during the final phase of the conflict.
