The opening ceremony of the newly constructed Queen of Heaven and Earth Church, located in the Kottai kattiya Kulam area of Akkarayan, was held on April 26.
The event was organized under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Alben Sekar of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate Congregation, Parish Priest of Akkarayan.
During the ceremony, Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin Gnanapragasam, Bishop of Jaffna, participated and solemnly blessed and inaugurated the new church.
Numerous priests, religious sisters, and villagers of Akkarayan took part in the event and joined in prayer.
