The inauguration ceremony of the Monfort Brothers’ residence, “Monfort Illam”, at the Swami Thottam premises in Alampil took place on February 21.
The event was led by Rev. Bro. Mariayapragasam, Provincial Superior of the Monfort Brothers in Sri Lanka and Principal of the Monfort International School in Allaipiddy, Jaffna.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin Gnanapragasam, Bishop of the Diocese of Jaffna, blessed the building, and Rev. Bro. Dhanaraj, Assistant General of the Monfort Brothers of St. Gabriel in Rome, formally inaugurated the house.
Rev. Bro. John Britto, Provincial Superior of the Monfort Brothers in India, and Rev. Fr. Jebaratnam, Vicar General of the Diocese of Jaffna, also attended and graced the occasion. The ceremony was further joined by several priests, brothers, and sisters of the congregation.
The Monfort Brothers, who operate an international school in Allaipiddy, Jaffna, have established “Monfort Illam” in Alampil as part of their plan to expand educational and community outreach into Mullaitivu.
