The 50th anniversary of the Ark Home for the Differently Abled in Uduvil, managed by the Sisters of the Holy Family, was celebrated on October 11.
The event was organized under the leadership of Rev. Sr. S.Santhini, Sister in charge of the Aark children, and Rev. Sr. B. Anne Rubini, Superior of the Home. The celebrations began with the unveiling of a statue of the congregation’s founder, Fr. Peter Bienvenu Noailles, by the Bishop of Jaffna, Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin Gnanapragasam, followed by a Thanksgiving Holy Mass.
Members of the Ark community marked the milestone by cutting a Golden Jubilee cake. The programme also included cultural performances, honours for former sisters and priests, and the launch of the Golden Jubilee Souvenir, officially released by Rev. Sr. Joylin Raji Stanley, provincial Superior of the Holy Family Sisters, Jaffna Province.
Among the attendees were Mrs. Shalini Beaul, a family member of the late Mr. Beaul, the founder of Ark Home, as well as priests, sisters, parents, alumni, teachers, and benefactors.
