A climate-resilient agriculture and greening initiative was launched in Kilinochchi by Caritas Vanni HUDEC to promote environmental protection and sustainable farming practices.
The launch took place on September 16th under the leadership of the organization’s Director, Rev. Fr. Sebajeevan.
As part of the ceremony, a model farm was inaugurated, where a variety of tree saplings — including short-, medium-, and long-term growth species — were planted to boost agricultural productivity while supporting environmental sustainability.
The event was attended by administrative officers, an agriculture instructor, and project beneficiaries, who actively took part in the planting activities and received guidance on climate-smart farming techniques.
