The Golden Jubilee of the priestly ordination of Fr. Iruthayathas, one of the senior priests of the Diocese of Jaffna, was solemnly celebrated on May 10 at St. Therese’s Church, Kilinochchi.
The event, organized by Rev. Fr. Sylvesterthas, the Parish Priest of Kilinochchi, began with a thanksgiving Eucharistic Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Iruthayathas, the jubilarian. This was followed by a special jubilee program honoring his fifty years of faithful priestly service.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin Gnanapragasam, Bishop of Jaffna, along with priests, religious sisters, and lay faithful, gathered to offer prayers of gratitude and appreciation for Rev. Fr. Iruthayathas’s lifelong dedication to the Church and its mission.
