The sixth anniversary of the tragic Easter Sunday bombings, which claimed hundreds of lives across Sri Lanka in 2019, was solemnly observed on April 21st in various parts of the country.

In the Diocese of Jaffna, a heartfelt commemoration was organized at St. Mary’s Cathedral under the coordination of Rev. Fr. Jebaratnam, the Vicar General of the Diocese.

A special prayer and remembrance service was held at a dedicated memorial site set up in front of the cathedral, where candles were lit in honor of the victims.

Following this, a silent procession was carried out into the church, with participants holding lit candles. The lights were then placed before the statue of the Risen lord, symbolizing hope and resurrection.

The event was attended by priests, religious sisters, students, teachers, and a large number of faithful, who came together to pray for the eternal rest of those who lost their lives in the attacks.
