The High Commissioner of Canada to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Eric Walsh, visited St. Henry’s College, Ilavalai, on July 15, as part of his official visit to Sri Lanka.
Responding to an invitation extended by the Canadian Old Boys’ Association, Mr. Walsh toured the college and took part in a special event held on the school premises.
During the visit, he unveiled a commemorative plaque marking the occasion of his visit.
Following the event, Mr. Walsh held a cordial discussion with clergy of the Ilavalai deanery, led by Rev. Fr. Jebaratnam, the Vicar General of the Diocese.
The visit was a symbol of continued support and connection between the Canadian Tamil diaspora and their alma mater in Sri Lanka.
