The Diocese of Jaffna observed Priest Day on March 30, bringing together nearly 200 priests serving across the region.

The day’s programme, organized by Vicar General Rev. Fr. Jebaratnam, included the Holy Rosary, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Eucharistic Adoration, and a meditation reflection at the Bishop’s house chapel.

In the evening, the observance continued with the celebration of the Chrism Mass, led by Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin Gnanapragasam at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Jaffna.

The reflection was delivered by Rev. Fr. Selvaratnam of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, under the theme: “You Are My Friends.”

During the liturgy, the holy oils were blessed, and the clergy renewed their priestly promises.

A large number of religious sisters, brothers, seminarians, and lay faithful also joined in prayer, marking a day of devotion, reflection, and unity for the Diocese.
