The opening ceremony and annual feast of the newly constructed Antony’s Church in Suthanthirapuram, Udayarkattu, were held on June 14.
The event was organized by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Alvin Kirubakaran. The celebrations began with a ceremonial procession led by the band of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish Sunday School, which escorted the Bishop of Jaffna, Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin Bernard Gnanapragasam, from the main road to the church premises.
The Bishop subsequently blessed and officially opened the newly constructed church, which had been built with an impressive architectural design, and presided over the feast day Holy Mass.
Priests, religious sisters, parishioners, and devotees from the surrounding areas participated in the celebrations.
