Fr. Manuvel Pillai David has assumed office as the new Vicar General of the Diocese of Jaffna, following his appointment by the Bishop of Jaffna, Rt. Rev. Dr. Anton Ranjith, on September 7.
Along with him, Rev. Fr. Arulanantham Yavis has been appointed as the Diocesan Procurator General, while Rev. Fr. Peter Amalathas Kamalraj has been appointed as the Secretary to the Bishop.
Several other appointments have also been made to various pastoral and administrative responsibilities within the Diocese.
Rev. Fr. Josephthas Jebaratnam has been appointed Parish Priest of Our Lady of Refuge Church in Jaffna, while Rev. Fr. Nilan Julius has been appointed Parish Priest of Delft.
Rev. Fr. Richard Oliver Terence has been appointed Acting Parish Priest of Poonakary, while Rev. Fr. Charles Collins has been appointed Acting Director of the Ahavoli Family Services Centre of the Diocese of Jaffna.
These appointments are significant as they are the first appointments made by Rt. Rev. Dr. Anton Ranjith since assuming office as the Bishop of Jaffna.
