The Claretian Biblical Apostolate organized a Biblical Conference aimed at empowering the laity on September 13th at the Ahavoli Family Services Centre Hall in Jaffna.
Held under the theme “Jubilee Year in the Light of the Bible,” the event was presided over by Rev. Fr. Ronald Sujeevan, Director of the Claretian Biblical Apostolate.
The program featured keynote addresses and group discussions. Rev. Fr. Michael Soundranayagam, Parish Priest of Atchuvely, spoke on “The Jubilee Year in the Old Testament.” Rev. Fr. Francis Dineshan, Bursar of St. Francis Xavier’s Major Seminary in Colombuthurai, delivered a reflection on “The Jubilee Year in the New Testament.” Rev. Fr. Justin Aathar, Parish Priest of Chempiyanpattu–Thalaiyadi, addressed the topic “The Call to Jubilee in the History of the Popes.”
At the conclusion of the sessions, certificates were awarded to participants.
The conference brought together clergy, religious, parish representatives, and lay faithful, who actively participated and benefited from the discussions.
