The Conferring of Ministries took place at St. Francis Xavier’s Major Seminary, Columbuthurai, Jaffna on Thursday the 12th of November 2015, presided over by His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Savundaranayagam.
Bro. H. Eronius was conferred the ministry of Acolyte, while Bros. V. Ranjan Xavier and A. Alvin Kirupakaran were conferred the ministry of Lector. Further, Bros. A. Alvin Kirupakaran, R. Mary Bastian, A. Liyans and S. Ajith Sulaxshan received Initiation as Candidates to the Priesthood. It is noteworthy that Bros. Ranjan Xavier and Mary Bastian belong to the Diocese of Mannar, while the others belong to the Diocese of Jaffna.
The parents and close relatives of these Brothers were present at the simple ceremony held in the Seminary Chapel. Rev. Fr. Michael Savundaranayagam, the Rector of the Seminary, thanked His Lordship and the priests, religious and lay people who took part in the ceremony.
